A short note from the author

Hi, I’m Veronika, a marketing manager at Starry – biggest lash store in Northern Europe. Over the years, I have communicated with hundreds of lash techs from different countries, organized and analyzed lash artist surveys, and learned a lot about the real challenges beauty professionals face in their daily work and business.

In recent years, global changes, rising costs and shifts in customer behavior have affected many industries, including the beauty industry. Many lash artists are now thinking more carefully about their prices, expenses, client flow and long-term business stability.

That is why I decided to write this article. My goal is to help you see more opportunities to earn more, spend smarter and grow your lash business no matter if you are just starting out or already have years of experience.

What this guide will cover

Earning more as a lash artist is not only about raising your prices or taking more clients. To build a more profitable lash business, you need to focus on two things: increasing your revenue and reducing your expenses.

Revenue grows when you improve your skills, offer more valuable services, attract more clients and create extra income opportunities. Expenses go down when you choose products wisely, work efficiently, avoid waste and keep track of your numbers.

In this article, we’ll go through practical ways to make more money as a lash tech in 2026.

How to increase revenue as a lash artist

1. Never stop improving your skills

When you improve your work quality, retention, styling and client experience, raising your prices with confidence becomes much easier.

Keep learning from different trainers and lash experts. Every educator can give something valuable to your work – from perfect isolation and advanced styling to better retention, faster work or improved client communication.

You can also grow professionally by attending lash master-classes, participating in competitions and communicating with other artists. This allows you to see new techniques, understand industry trends and become more confident in your own work.

As your skills become stronger, you will create better results, build trust and position yourself as a professional who is worth higher prices.

2. Offer more variety in your lash services

If you offer only one or two types of lash sets, your income opportunities are quite limited. Learning new and trending lash styles can help you attract more clients and increase the value of each appointment.

For example, you can add textured sets, different shades of brown lashes, wet look lashes, lower lash extensions, lash lifts or other add-on services. The goal is not to offer everything, but to choose services that fit your skills, your clients and your local demand.

It’s also a good idea to create premium service options: instead of offering only basic sets, you can create services such as advanced personalized styling, special occasion lash sets (e.g. wedding, graduation, photoshoot, etc.) or full lash makeover appointments. This gives clients more choice and gives you a clear reason to charge more.

3. Resell lash aftercare products

Always recommend lash shampoo, cleansing brushes and lash brushes to your new clients, and from time to time ask your returning clients if they still have all these essentials or need something new.

Proper homecare helps clients keep their lashes clean, improves retention and protects your work. And at the same time, lash aftercare products can create an extra income stream for your business. You can stock them in bulk at a lower price and resell them to your clients with profit.

It’s not just about selling more – it’s also about helping your clients take better care of their lashes and get better results from your work.

4. Grow your demand with better marketing

In 2026, good lash work alone is not enough to stand out. If you want more clients and higher demand, you also need to work on your marketing.

Staying active on social media is important, but what matters even more is learning how to create content that makes people stop scrolling and shows why they should trust and choose you. When your demand grows and your calendar is full, raising your prices becomes much easier.

Good photos and videos are also crucial, as clients want to see your quality before they book. Do not post only close-up lash pictures – show full-face results, different angles and different lash styles. A strong portfolio builds trust and helps you to attract clients who are willing to pay more.

You can also increase your visibility by joining local communities, connecting with beauty professionals in your area, collaborating with brands and sharing useful knowledge with other lash techs. These activities help you build your name in the industry and can create new opportunities in the future, such as becoming a trainer, speaker, judge, brand partner or educator.

5. Review your prices regularly

If your skills, speed, product costs, rent or demand have increased, your prices should reflect that. Plus, inflation in your country also plays a role here.

Review your prices at least once or twice a year. Small but regular price increases are usually easier for clients to accept than one big price jump after several years.

Raising prices can feel uncomfortable, but it’s a normal part of running a business. If your quality, experience and demand have grown, your prices should grow too.

Know your costs and cut them where possible

1. Remember that your time is also a cost

The more time you spend during or between appointments, the less profitable your working day becomes. A faster workflow does not come only from moving your hands quicker, but it also comes from better products, preparation and a more organized workspace.

For example, choose high-quality premade fans that are comfortable to pick up, place and work with. If your room temperature or humidity is often unstable and interferes with your work, consider learning the UV LED technique. It can help you work more effectively in unstable room conditions. However, if you decide to use it, pay close attention to quality training, suitable products and safety instructions.

Keep all your materials organized and easy to reach, so you don't waste time looking for tools during the appointment. Prepare lash maps before the client arrives, especially for regular clients, and keep client notes with their preferred curl, length, style and sensitivity.

At the end of the working day, clean and restock your workspace instead of leaving it for the next morning. A smoother workflow helps you save time, reduce stress and take more appointments without lowering your quality.

2. Calculate the real cost per set

Do not look only at the product price. Look at how many lash sets you can make with that product and how much each set actually costs you.

For example, when using premade fans, bigger trays can often be more profitable because the price per fan is usually lower. A bigger tray may cost more at first, but the cost per set will be lower.

This is why it is important to think like a business owner, not only like a buyer. The cheapest product is not always the most profitable option (because of the quality), and the most expensive product is not always a bad investment.

3. Use lash sales, bulk offers, and product bundles wisely

Before placing an order, check whether your lash supplier has any campaigns, bulk offers, bundles or special sets available.

Sales and discounts are a great way to stock up on everyday essentials, such as lash trays, tapes, brushes, patches and aftercare products. Bulk offers can also help you save money, because buying several glues, lash shampoos or mixed lash trays together is often cheaper than buying each product separately.

Just be careful with products that have a shorter shelf life, like lash adhesive. Buying too much glue can lead to waste instead of savings.

4. Reduce no-shows and last-minute cancellations

A missed appointment is not just an empty slot – it’s lost income.

Use deposits, an online booking system, automatic reminders and clear cancellation policies to protect your time. Clients should understand your booking rules before they make an appointment.

This helps you reduce no-shows, avoid last-minute gaps in your calendar and keep your income more stable.

5. Track your expenses regularly

If you don’t track your income and expenses on a monthly and yearly basis, it gets hard to understand whether your lash business is truly profitable.

Keep an eye on product prices, rent, booking fees, taxes, marketing costs and other business expenses. Also calculate how much you actually earn per appointment. This helps you see where your money goes and where you can save more.

Don’t cut costs on product quality, hygiene or safety (yours and clients'). But avoid buying products you don’t actually need, even if they look trendy or are on discount. Make every purchase with a clear purpose.

Conclusion

Earning more as a lash artist in 2026 is not about one big change. It’s about making smarter decisions in every part of your business.

Improve your skills, offer valuable services, build demand, review your prices, choose products wisely and keep track of your numbers.

Additionally, always look for new opportunities to earn more, and therefore think where you could lower your costs.

When you increase your revenue and reduce unnecessary expenses at the same time, your lash business becomes more profitable and more stable.

I wish you lots of patience on this journey, and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your success!
